Conceptualised by Uma Manickam, an educator with over 35 years of experience in establishing and working with institutions affiliated to CBSE, matriculation, ICSE and Cambridge boards, Rising Peacock is an initiative dedicated to grooming both scholars and educators to meet international school standards. It seeks to bridge the gap between conventional teaching practices and global benchmarks by integrating contemporary pedagogical approaches that are dynamic, inclusive, and future- focused. The initiative is rooted in the belief that education must evolve beyond rigid frameworks to foster critical thinking, adaptability, and real-world readiness. The vision of Rising Peacock is to empower students with the skills, perspective, and confidence required to access global opportunities and thrive in an ever-evolving world, while simultaneously building a strong ecosystem of educators and institutions aligned with international excellence.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Mrs. M Uma is one of the most accomplished and qualified academicians in India. She is particularly known for her exceptional contributions in nurturing young minds and shaping institutions that groom the future generations. In her career spanning over 35 years, Mrs. Uma started out as an English Faculty for 18 years and then she transitioned to Principal for over 17 years. She has served in some of the most prestigious institutions in India including GRG Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chinmaya International Residential School (CIRS) and Chandra Matriculation Higher Secondary School and GRG Modern Scholars (Cambridge). As a Principal at Chandra Matriculation Higher Secondary School, she spearheaded the foundation of the Cambridge International School – GRG Modern Scholars, where she served as the Principal till her retirement in March 2025. Mrs. Uma is defined by her vision and commitment to strive for excellence in nourishing the minds of the future leaders of the world.
